If you are still wrapping pallets in stretch film, you are accepting two trade-offs: the load can’t breathe, and your machine consumes 30% more raw material than it needs. Pallet netting addresses both. It ventilates, holds with 50–70% less plastic per pallet, and lets warehouse operators read the label without unwrapping.

Filesan’s pallet net ships on automated wrapper-compatible bobbins. The elastic, stretch-film-like behavior grips pallet corners but lets air through.

Where it is used

  • Fresh produce shipping. Cut flowers, lettuce and citrus pallets see noticeably lower mold rates.
  • Bakery and milled grain. Where the pallet needs to breathe, stretch film is replaced by net.
  • Wooden pallet export. No condensation problems through container temperature swings.
  • Industrial machinery and automotive parts. Visibility is essential; net allows the forklift driver to read labels without removing the wrap.

Specifications and sizing

Once we know your wrapper machine model and average pallet footprint, we recommend the right roll width and stretch ratio.

  • Material: HDPE or LDPE + elastomer blend.
  • Automatic line standard: 50 cm width, 3,000 m length, ~3.4 g/m, 76 mm cardboard core.
  • Manual use: 50 cm width, 800 m length, 50 mm cardboard core.
  • Elasticity: 150%–300% stretch behavior.
  • Mesh: 4–10 mm aperture; ventilation through the entire wrap.
  • Color: red, white, golden yellow, lemon yellow; transparent and black on request.
  • Load rating: 1,000–1,500 kg pallets standard.
  • Packaging: roll on cardboard core, transparent overwrap.

Why bulk buyers choose Filesan

Switching from stretch film to pallet net is an operations decision. The annual material savings work out clearly when calculated against your tonnage; we share that spreadsheet on request. The visibility advantage is the second sales argument that closes most deals.

Share your wrapping machine make and model and we hit the right bobbin in one shot. Container-quantity custom color orders are routine for us.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to retune my wrapper after switching to net?

Yes. Pre-stretch and rotor speed need adjustment. Our service team works the new settings out on your line; we run the first trial together.

Can the color match my brand?

Yes; share a Pantone code, we run a private batch. Container-level custom color is a routine shipping profile.

Maximum load capacity?

Standard 50 cm × 3,000 m bobbin holds 1,000–1,500 kg pallets. Reinforced versions are available for heavier industrial loads.

About the Filesan Expert Team behind this page

Pallet netting looks like a stretch film alternative but the bobbin-machine-load triangle is more sensitive than stretch film users expect. Filesan maintains separate bobbin recipes for each major wrapper family: Robopac, Atlanta, Lantech, Cyklop. Logistics managers’ “30% material savings” claims often stay on paper; our team validates them with a line trial.

Our polymer team optimizes the LDPE-elastomer blend at the pilot plant. A 1% recipe shift can swing stretch behavior by 15%; that fine-tuning is built on three decades.
