A pedestrian shouldn’t take a screwdriver to the head walking past a building site. That principle is what scaffolding safety netting protects. The screen serves three roles at once: worker safety, public safety, and dust containment for urban renovation work. The European reference is EN 13374 (the scaffold edge protection standard); our production aligns with it.

Filesan’s construction safety net is HDPE raschel knit, with UV and on-request flame-retardant additives. For one-piece netting along scaffold runs, three things matter at the same time: stitching, eyelet quality and total weight.

Where it is used

  • Scaffold safety netting. 1.5–3 m side-curtain netting around the structure catches falling tools and debris.
  • Building façade dust screens. Urban renovation projects use full-façade nets to contain particulates.
  • Site perimeter screening. Visual enclosure plus access control.
  • Bridge and viaduct rehabilitation. Maintains traffic flow underneath while crews work above.
  • Industrial project enclosures. Spray booth, cold-storage and similar projects use safety nets as splash barriers.

Specifications and sizing

If your site manager is asking for EN 13374 compliance, the order comes off our certified line. On large-scale projects, weight optimization saves real money over the project budget.

  • Material: HDPE raschel knit, UV stabilized; flame-retardant (FR) additive on request.
  • Weight: 50–150 g/m². Volume runs at 70, 90, 100 g/m².
  • Color: green (most common), high-visibility orange, blue, white, black, yellow.
  • Width: 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 m. Length: 50 m and 100 m rolls or custom-stitched.
  • Tensile strength: 1,500–3,000 N/5 cm, EN 13374 Class A/B compliant.
  • Eyelets: galvanized aluminum, 25/33/50 cm spacing.
  • UV life: 4–6 years outdoor.
  • Certification: EN 13374, CE marking; test reports ship with the order on request.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between EN 13374 Class A and B?

Class A handles lighter fall loads, Class B heavier. Building height and site traffic determine the EN 13374 rule applied.

What is the cost premium on the FR variant?

Roughly 25% above the standard green net. Hotels, hospitals and airport specifications typically require it.

What happens to the net after the project?

It is HDPE and recyclable. Plastic recycling facilities accept it directly; we share supplier lists on request.

About the Filesan Expert Team behind this page

Construction safety netting is a scaled product: a single-villa job and a high-rise project carry different specifications. Our construction-line manager is a mechanical engineer who works closely with the Turkish Contractors Association. EN 13374 Class A and B testing repeats per batch in an accredited laboratory.

Our flame-retardant variant lands at B-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1 (the European fire classification standard) — the minimum class for airports, hospitals and many hotel specifications. The certificate ships with each delivery.
