Shading Net
When a greenhouse loses control of its summer afternoons, growers usually reach for shading net first. The hard part is picking the right shading factor. Cucumbers and strawberries don’t want the same light level; a parking canopy is a different problem altogether.
Filesan’s shade nets are knitted from high-density polyethylene tape (HDPE) reinforced with UV stabilizers. Density runs from 30% to 95% shading, which is the language growers, distributors and project contractors share. The fabric stays flexible after years in the field, holds its color far longer than untreated yarn, and tears repair cleanly with stitching.
Where it is used
- Greenhouses and nurseries. Tomato and pepper houses run 30–50% shade in summer; ornamentals and shade-loving plants prefer 60–80%.
- Carport and parking shade canopies. 80–95% black shade fabric drops cabin temperature by 15–20°C on a July afternoon and protects vehicles from UV fade.
- Drying floors for tea, hazelnut, grape, coffee. The mesh filters direct sun without choking airflow, slowing color loss and surface cracking.
- Livestock pens, terraces, balconies. A single layer over a small ruminant pen drops heat stress through the summer.
- Landscape and screening. Hides hotel service yards, construction sites or unsightly equipment from public view.

- Material: HDPE monofilament (single-strand) tape, UV stabilized with a HALS additive (UV light stabilizer).
- Weight: 60 g/m² to 220 g/m². 50% shade typically runs 60–80 g/m²; 90% shade lands at 140–180 g/m².
- Shading factors: 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 95%.
- Colors: green (most common), black, white, silver-grey, custom shades.
- Width: 0.5 m up to 12 m; 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 m widths see the most volume.
- Length: 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 500 m rolls; or stitched to your finished size.
- Packaging: rolled on cardboard cores, or pressed bales wrapped in transparent film.
- UV life: 5–8 years outdoors, longer under glass or polyfilm cover.
- Edge reinforcement: double overlock with aluminum eyelets (edge holes) every 33/50 cm on request.
Why bulk buyers choose Filesan
Filesan has been weaving shade fabric in İskenderun since 1991. The factory runs raschel knitting machines on continuous shifts, and every batch passes weight, shade-factor and UV-content checks before it leaves the floor. Distributors and export buyers get factory-direct pricing, container-loaded shipments, and contracts written around custom width-color-length combinations.
We ship to 56 countries on a regular schedule. Whatever specification document, packaging rule or labeling demand you put in front of us, the chances are we have already produced something close to it. Send us your sample brief and we’ll come back with a quote.
Frequently asked questions
Which shade factor should I order?
Tomato and pepper houses normally land at 30–50%; strawberry and lettuce at 40–60%; sun-curing yards 50–70%; carports 85–95%. We help triangulate against your latitude and target crop before you commit.
How fast can you deliver?
Stocked widths leave the warehouse within 48 hours; custom-stitched orders take 5–7 working days. Seasonal projects ordered in March or April reach you in time for early-summer installation.
What guarantee do you offer on UV life?
Five years outdoors, up to eight years under cover. The UV additive test certificate ships with each batch.
About the Filesan Expert Team behind this page
This page is written by Filesan’s production and R&D team in İskenderun. Between us we hold more than three decades of HDPE raschel weaving practice. Line operators calibrate shade factor against weight every shift, the QC supervisor verifies UV content per batch on a xenon-arc tester (an accelerated weathering machine), and the export team logs end-use feedback from greenhouses, carports and landscape projects across 56 countries.
One number worth flagging: “70% shade” means different things at different mills. Our measurement is taken on a European-standard luxmeter and reported on the technical data sheet alongside the lumen figure. If your project requires verification, the test report ships with the order.
